Big Changes This Week

Big Changes This Week

Tuesday June 6

If the weather over the next week does not shock your system, I don’t know what will. Summer heat is on the way, but we just take a step backwards first. We will have yet another trough in the jet stream keeping a cool pocket of air stuck over our region this week. Temperatures may struggle to get out of the 60s for a day or two, when we should be in the lower 80s. But as I have often highlighted, extremes breed extreme. The pendulum will swing the other way as a ridge will build in the atmosphere pumping back the heat this weekend. Temperatures my reach 90ºF by Sunday and stay there into next week.

But first, those showers are possible today. They may pop up in any location, but more likely in northern Maryland and southern Pennsylvania after 2PM . Temperatures will get back close to 80ºF, so enjoy it before the chill returns.

The next storm is tracking east off of the coast and should miss us for a change… But it will help to drag down colder air on the back side… keeping us cool
