Veterans Day Turning Windy And Colder Today

screen-shot2016-11-11-06_14_12Friday November 11 – Today is not only Veterans Day, but my son’s 7th birthday. We are honored to share it every year, and flags will be extending in the increasing wind today as well. A cold front will be moving through, so a mild start will lead to a colder finish. But there is not much moisture, so with some clouds, the only thing to watch is the wind direction and speed. A fresh Canadian air mass will be surging in and make for the coldest air so far of the season. Only one day is expected to be chilly, until we modify Sunday. But the mornings will bring the first freeze of the season to many.

Here’s a look at the winds by the hour. A Small Craft Advisory likely on the Bay, and if you are heading to the kick off of the Baltimore Blast’s season tonight, expect to feel it heading in to the arena.

Hourly Winds: NAM Model –> slider

Winds will gust 30 to 40 mph

The highs will likely be between 1 and 2 PM, then falling off during the afternoon as the winds increase.

Sunset Temps

  • Saturday will be the coldest of the stretch:
  • The mornings are likely to drop into the 20s away from the city and Bay…
  • The cool down next week may end up colder than this model is showing.
  • Showers on Tuesday, but the overall pattern change to colder temps is the focus.
