July 3 – This morning started with rain in southern Maryland, Delmarva, and the beaches. The suggestion that US 50 would be the edge of rain is how the radar looked, but on the north side just cloudy, cool, and dry. Trying to plot out the subtle location of the frontal boundary and rain has been difficult. Especially in holiday mode. I have been relegated to just sharing the model projections, which has been been less than perfect. I know some of your plans have been relying on these, so here is the latest timeline.
Please note: Showers are more likely to linger into the afternoon near Ocean City, and into the mountains. Near Baltimore and north into southern Pennsylvania should be OK. The play for tomorrow is really challenging. The NAM Model looks rather wet for all of us, but the GFS Model keeps us dry until perhaps late afternoon or evening.
