Here Comes The Rain: Timeline Friday May 6

Friday May 6: Heavy rain is moving inland from off of the ocean today. A storm in the Atlantic is getting pushed westward and the center will settle over the Chesapeake Bay Saturday. Most of the action will be this morning through mid afternoon and it will get heavy. How much? Well, enough for local flooding with a range of half and inch to 1.5″ possible. Here’s a quick look at the radar simulation. Please see the notes below, and come see the Faith in the Flowers display at Bowman’s booth at Westminster’s Flower and Jazz Fest. I will be there Saturday afternoon. Then we can talk about a better Mother’s Day

Outlook: Warmer

This weekend’s events, such as the Flower and Jazz Festival in Westminster will see some improvement. There will be a few scattered showers, especially east of I-83 Saturday. Mother’s Day should be fine after a stray morning showers. But temperatures will show an improvement. Despite more rain next week, we should get back to the 70s.
