Thursday May 5 – We are in an unusual weather pattern for May that has made it feel like late winter. A large upper level Low has dropped from the Great Lakes into the Carolinas. The water vapor satellite loop below shows this well. The net result will take a developing area of Low Pressure off of the Atlantic and pull it west into Maryland Friday. This will enhance our rain and likely stall over the Chesapeake Bay for a day. This will start with the increased easterly wind this evening. Watch the short range simulation showing the developing rain, then the improvement expected on Mother’s Day.
