Sunday April 3 – It’s the night before the start of the 2016 baseball season for the Orioles and the anticipation may be squelched by the wild weather. You know the expression, “If you don’t like the weather just wait 15 minutes”? Well, Monday will live up to that, if you swap in ‘a few hours’. So if you are planning a day at Camden Yards you may want to consider what you wear and carry with you. The morning will be cool, starting near 40°F, but temps will jump close to 70°F by game time. The problem is, that is when showers and storms will be moving in.
Below is a quick look at the NAM Model radar simulation showing the timeline. The best chance for thunderstorms will be between 4 and 6 PM, then strong winds will drag down colder air. Temperatures may hold near 60°F until sunset, then the freezing line will drop south. A Freeze Watch is once again in effect into southern Maryland with another threat to the farmers early season crops.
