Thursday March 10- Temperatures this morning already represent a warm March day with readings in the upper 50s to near 60F. The average for this date is 52°F. Could we make another run for the 80s? That might be difficult with more clouds, but the front responsible will stay west and keep the rain away. So this comes down to how strong the wind pushing the warm air in can act and breaks of sunshine. Either way, the record today is 77°F set back in 2006. So if we are 5 degrees cooler than yesterday, we will make the mark.
Some sense of reality returns for this weekend. It will be nice, but not quite as warm for the road races. If you are running in the Rock N Roll DC Marathon it will be clearing, dry, and mild. If you have plans for the Kelly 5K in Baltimore on Sunday, there is a slight risk for a brief shower during the afternoon. But temperatures will still be above average.
