Christmas Day May Hit A Record Plus Heavy Rain Timeline

Christmas Day May Hit A Record Plus Heavy Rain Timeline

Christmas Day Fog Breaks By The BayI keep singing, “Have yourself a sweaty little Christmas” and I am sweating in a red sweater.  Then again I did run in shorts and a t-shirt earlier. At noon, Baltimore’s BWI hit 71°F, which overshoots the expectation and is now 1 degree away from the warmest Christmas Day of 72°F set in 1964. So it was this warm 51 years ago, but that doesn’t make it right!  Extreme weather just happens sometimes. Quite frequently this year. It’s ironic I say we ‘may’ get the record high again as this is average high temps for early May!

People have been boating on the Chesapeake Bay, and Mid Atlantic Aerial got this ominous photo to show the conditions by the water. Meanwhile the fog is lingering in parts of Carroll County and on the hill tops. This heat and moisture is fuel for the next round of rain moving in, and if you have traveling plans on this holiday I wanted to help you prepare. Some of that Christmas Day rain could be heavy, along with thunderstorms and local flooding this evening. Here is a look at the simulated radar for the timeline.
