First Flakes Photos And Local Ski Resorts Making Snow

Snowshoe Snow December19Snow fell in a limited form overnight, and if are a winter lover, then any little bit at this point is a big deal. Pushing deep into December without snow is thanks to El Nino, but also somewhat common locally. Baltimore only averages 3 inches of snow in any given December, but half the years we can go with nothing more than a trace. So check out these local photos, and a look at the are ski resorts below. It is the ski and snowboard industry that is hurting. For that matter, even snow tubing. I don’t think they pushed an inch, and if Snowshoe did, it was at their summit only. With the band of snow showers and cold air, the resorts are blasting their snow guns, if nothing else to clean out the pipes. Yes, we will warm up Christmas week, but the pattern will change in January. So hold on to your Faith in the Flakes. It will snow again… in a while.

This was one of many posts I got on my Facebook page this morning. When I first read it, I thought Angela couldn’t sleep because there was snow in Baldwin, MD. If this was me, that would be the reason I couldn’t sleep. (actually pretty close to the truth). See more local snow posts below…
