Cold Today, Warm Next Week, Cold Thanksgiving

Cold Today, Warm Next Week, Cold Thanksgiving

radarSatNov14Lake Effect snow squalls in New York and flurries on radar made it in central Pennsylvania this morning  are a sign of the cold air spilling in. The flakes have not reached Maryland yet, but the clouds have. Perhaps a flurry or two possible this morning well north of Baltimore, but that is it. While it may seem like winter is starting, it is not! In fact, after a chilly Sunday and cool day for the Ravens game, we can watch the upper level pattern to show how temperatures will rebound back above normal next week. Mid 60s will continue to mark a warm November, but not extreme as no records should be set. There is one stormy morning in the midst, then a pattern change for Thanksgiving week.

This slider below shows the next 10 days of upper level conditions that translates to temperatures on the surface. One thing so far is that cold air has pushed it, but can not sustain itself.  We see that again, but also notice the pattern change by day 10- Thanksgiving week. Also see the temperature breakdown below.

Stormy Morning?

The one concern next week will be a line of storms slated to arrive Thursday morning.
