Some Rain Today, Race Weather For 10K Across Bay

Radar_SatNov7We started another morning with temperatures in the 60s, warmer than our normal afternoon high. But there is a wave of rain pushing in, that will make for a we Saturday for some, and just miss others. As of this morning, it looks like metro Baltimore will spit the difference with rain this morning but that will shift east and south after noon. A wave of low pressure will continue to develop, so the radar should fill in a bit more over the next few hours.  The north end may be just sprinkles, but there is a chunk of wet weather on the move in.

Temperatures will stay nearly steady today, but cooler winds will arrive for Sunday.  Below is a look at today’s radar simulation and how the winds may impact runners in Sunday’s 10K Across The Bay.

Rain today will not be heavy…

Alos note the the coverage here includes light rain and sprinkles on the north end. Steadier rain will persists farther south and east.

10K Across The Bay

The nation’s 6th largest 10K race will be spread over a few hours Sunday between 7AM and 9:30AM starting time waves. This will be the windy part of the day, and being elevated on the Bay Bridge span. It looks like a cross wind from north to south gusting 15 to 20 mph will be felt. Since runners will be heading east on the bridge from Annapolis to Stevensville, this will be a wind from left to right. So the faint of heart might have trouble on the span, but you should be OK if you stay on the left side of the span, this will give you more road as a cushion to be pushed a little. Good luck! Have Fun! Take and share photos 🙂

Temperatures:

Sunday will be the cool, brisk day. then we get back to another mild week. It looks like we hold off the colder pattern for another week.
