Fog Delays, The Bay, And Really Warm Days

Fog Delays, The Bay, And Really Warm Days

WaterTempFogNovember warm ups  have their problems. These long nights do allow the air to cool down quite a bit. But the Chesapeake Bay is holding strong in the 60s and the combination is why there is often fog to start the day. It was thick enough this morning to slow things down around the Bay Bridge, but also school delays on the Lower Eastern Shore. These include: Dorchester, Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester. There have been pockets inland near Frederick and along the Potomac River that could slow you down.  This will burn off quickly, as you can see in the cloud slider below. That same Bay water that helps delay the cool downs and produce fog in the mornings, keeps temps cooler in the afternoons. So as we push the 70s this week, shoreline areas will stay cooler. How warm will we go? A few days in the 70s might be undercutting it. I think we could see an 80F reading in central Maryland by the end of this week. But it will cool down by the weekend.
