July Rain Below Normal In Baltimore While Temperature On Target

It seems the weather has balanced out a little in our region. Using Baltimore’s BWI as a central location, the measurements for temperature averaging the low and high for each day ended the month at 77F, exactly the long term average.  That includes our 7 days at 90F or above. Finally, summer showed up.  Those warm days and break in the record rain pattern from June helped to dry out the soggy ground a little. Rainfall for the month was only 3.49″. I say only since a few downpours and recent trend could have dropped more. There were some occasional local flooding events, but at least for BWI we ended the month about 1/2 inch below normal for rain.

What will August bring?

NOAA’s Climate Prediction Center shows near normal conditions in their outlook for Temperature and Precipitation. Actually, this means there is no indication to suggest anything out of the ordinary.
