Relief on the way: Storm Simulation For Thursday

Relief on the way: Storm Simulation For Thursday

Screen Shot2015-07-29 22_25_11The high of 88F wasn’t so great thanks to the building humidity. Baltimore escaped the worst this week, and the slight influence from the Chesapeake did help those storms flare up. But in addition to the local flooding, the humidity is still here and needs to go like an unwelcome guest.  So here comes a cold front to the rescue. Nothing out of the ordinary, but more widespread storms are expected Thursday. Brief rain and strong gusty winds, but behind it will be a refreshing Canadian Air Mass. Temperatures will not cool off much, but the drop in humidity will feel much better. Plus, we should get to see the second full moon/blue moon of the month.

This radar simulation shows the expected timeline for the line of showers and storms. It seems cliche, but metro Baltimore can expect this around 5 or 6 PM. The middle and lower Eastern Shore of Maryland between 7 and 10 PM. Then Ocean City before midnight, but most of the day should be fine at the beach.
